Malin & Goetz

Hello from Utah!  I am here for the week for work and I have to tell you, I am really loving it here!  The mountains are beautiful and so are the fall colors – which I don’t see too much in Southern California.  AND the food isn’t too shabby either.  I just wish there was more Asian foods but other than that – I think I want to live the nice small town life.  Traveling gets me thinking a lot about skincare.  I get really dry skin when I fly so that mixed with sensitive skin doesn’t not do well!

I did a review on the Malin+Goetz samples that I got in my April Birchbox a few months back and I fell in love with the products.  I was at Larchmont with my friends last month when I stumbled upon the Malin+Goetz store right next to Salt & Straw.  I walked on in and of course, purchased a few items.  The best thing about this place was that the associate inside gave me a TON of samples.  SO MANY SAMPLES!  He even gave the 2 friends with me a bag FULL of samples.  Best EVER!

This brand is great if you have sensitive skin and they don’t test on animals.  Win win!   Ever since I turned 30, my skin has turned extremely sensitive.  Who wants to be traveling and have a surprise break out?  Not I!  I love how everything smells really clean (not gross) and isn’t very harsh on my skin.  Keep on reading for some reviews….

Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant | $20:  The smell reminds me of the locker room at Soulcycle.  They probably use a ton of eucalyptus in their locker rooms to help with the germs.  I really like using natural deodorant.  I’m not too fond of deodorant that doesn’t let you sweat or is too heavily scented.  This was the perfect choice.  I don’t mind if I’m sweating because I wear it when I work out and that’s what you’re supposed to do.  If you do end up using this, keep note that if you’ve been using regular pore-clogging deodorant – your body may produce more sweat.  This actually happened to me and I thought I was going crazy.  After about a week or two, my body’s equilibrium is back to normal.

Malin+Goetz SPF 30 Face Moisturizer | $36:  This is light weight and feels like it’s whipped.  There isn’t really a scent, it absorbs quickly and doesn’t interfere with my face makeup.  I absolutely love using it as my day moisturizer.  It’s water-resistant which is great if you need that.  Malin & Goetz 4

Malin+Goetz Grapefruit Face Moisturizer | $32:  I did a review on this for my April Birchbox review so I won’t review it again here.  I still love it.  It’s great and if you have sensitive skin – definitely try this out and this brand.

So in conclusion – try it out.  The brand seems very generous in having you try out their products prior to purchasing them.  The products smell clean, it’s gentle, and I feel like I’m using something that’s semi-natural.  I like that.

I will be updating my Instagram with fun things I see in Utah this week, so if you are interested – stop on by!

I cannot tell you how long I have waited to wear all black again.  Summer is cool and all, but the light and bright colors just ain’t my thing.  What is my thing is ALL BLACK.  #alldayeveryday

No, but seriously…I love black.  You can ask my coworkers.  I wear black probably 4 out of the 5 days that I work.  I wear it so much people probably think I wear the same exact outfit every single day.  Black just makes you look put together, chic and did I mention slimmer?  Who doesn’t love that?

I was in Little Tokyo during the summer and my good friend who I stole this dress from, was looking at a green bomber.  I had always wanted a BLACK bomber – so hence, that’s how I got this nifty little jacket.  I have been waiting so long to wear it and now, I can wear it!  It’s supposed to “rain” today in LA.  Do I believe it is going to “rain?”  No, but you can bet that I will be wearing boots and this bomb ass bomber!

Also, I must mention that I am wearing my new Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl.  I will be doing a review very soon on the items I bought during my haul, but it’s my new Fall Lip Color and I love it!

Don’t forget that there is still time to enter my JORD Wood Watch Giveaway!  It ends in 6 days on 09.18.16.  Click HERE to enter!

August Birchbox Review

August BirchboxAugust Birchbox 4

It was all about hair this month, except for a few skincare/beauty items.  (When I made my profile, I put that I prefer skincare products and not so much makeup and hair care which is why even though that’s the theme for this month, I only got 2 products).

What I loved from my Birchbox this month:

Vasanti BrightenUP! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator | Birchbox $34.00:  You know I love a good exfoliator, but I absolutely loved this!  I really wasn’t expecting much and decided to use it one night before I went to bed.  My skin was baby butt soft!  It’s gentle on your skin so you don’t have to worry about having redness when you’re done washing your face.  Even looking at the product on Birchbox’s website – it’s sold out!  So I guess I wasn’t the only one who thought this stuff was awesome.  I’m buying it when it comes back in stock!

August Birchbox 3

R+Co BADLANDS Dry Shampoo Paste | Birchbox $28:  I was skeptical about this.  Dry shampoo in the form of a paste?  WTH…. BUT if I use it as a dry shampoo/texturizer on my 2nd and 3rd day hair then it’s wonderful!  It’s a gritty paste, so you have to rub it in your hands to get it be like a dry shampoo.  I like to add a bit of volume to my hair and I’m a #messyhairdontcare type of girl so this product did it’s magic.  If you have fine hair – this won’t work for you.  It will probably weigh your hair down and make it super greasy.  Thick, dry hair like me?  Works like a charm!

August Birchbox 2

Beauty Protector Protects & Oil | Birchbox $28.00:  I was kind of not expecting much with this box. When I picked up this hair oil, I just thought it was any other oil.  I was wrong.  It smells like vanilla and doesn’t weigh down my hair and make it super greasy.  Granted, I didn’t lather my hair in the oil but just used a dime size amount.  I have an Argon oil from Kiehl’s that I use but sometimes I feel like it makes my hair too greasy.  I put on the oil after washing my hair and air drying.  This product won my hair over!

What I didn’t care for:

Balance Me Congested Skin Serum | Birchbox $30:  I had high hopes for this one, but the smells was atrocious!  It’s all natural, free of parabens and sulfates, blah blah blah, but the smell was so strong that I thought it was full of chemicals.  PASS!

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Day-Dream Palette | Birchbox $25: I think this is an eyeshadow but can be used as a bronzer/highlighter.  I would probably use it for the latter but truthfully, it was too peachy for me to use as a bronzer or highlighter.  I feel like I have so many others in my personal arsenal cosmetics that this was just okay for me.
